Text and emoji favicons that still look sharp

Text and emoji modes are great for prototypes, side projects, and docs sites that do not have a designer on call.

Text tiles

• Prefer 1–2 characters (monogram). Three can still work; six will muddy at 16×16.
• High contrast beats brand subtlety at favicon size — amber on indigo, white on deep indigo, etc.
• Check the 16×16 PNG from the ZIP before you ship.

Emoji (best-effort)

Emoji are drawn with your OS / browser font. The same character can look different on macOS, Windows, and Android. LocalFavicon is honest about that: useful for personal sites, not a substitute for a designed mark.

If brand consistency matters, switch to From image with a PNG you control.
